You read that right! We’re excited to announce that we will be holding clay classes at all three locations in Boulder. We will also be offering classes in each artform at our new Main facility in NE Boulder. Details below!

 

MAIN

Our new facility is here! We’ve added an entirely new studio to double our clay classes AND add four new art forms: printmaking, low-fire glass, woodworking, and metalsmithing. All in an extra-convenient location for our friends in Longmont, Lafayette, Niwot and Louisville!

The studio traditionally known as the Pottery Lab (we’re keeping the sign). It may have a new name, but we’re offering the same great classes in our historic firestation studio in the heart of Boulder’s University Hill neighborhood.

FAC - Friday Afternoon Club

 

Session 6 FAC - Friday Afternoon Club

This class is offered exclusively to folks living with acquired/traumatic brain injuries (ABI). Our instructors and assistants facilitate creation of projects in clay, in a calm and supportive environment. We’ll explore hand-building and wheel-throwing, working with each individual to determine appropriate projects and methods. This class provides an intimate social environment (class limit is 10 students, with 1 instructor and 2 assistants), while sharpening motor skills and visual perception, improving focus, mental flexibility, perseverance, and creativity.

Printmaking Classes

Printmaking “Office Hours”

You've taken a class, but now you just want to be heads down working on your block, plate, or other idea, and you want to print it! We can help. Sign up for this freeform session to get some time in the studio, with an instructor present to answer questions and operate the press. There will be a limit of 4 people, to ensure you'll have press time.

What's included: Time in the studio and use of the press, with an instructor present, 1 sheet of 22"x30" archival quality printmaking paper (Arches, Rives, or other) and a limited amount of ink/modifiers, tools, such as palatte knives, basic carving tools, etc.

What's not included: Your plate/block - bring your own, whatever you worked on in class or purchase your own, extra paper - we'll get you started, but bring the specific paper you want to use for your project.

“Office Hours” for Session 6A will be from 1:30-4:30pm on Wednesdays and 9:30am-12:30pm on Thursdays. Click here to reserve your spot today!

Book Arts League

We are excited to announce our partnership with the Book Arts League. The Book Arts League is a Colorado-based community of individuals who share an interest in letterpress printing, calligraphy, and bookbinding.

  • Tabletop Postcard printing with Tom Parson

    Learn the basics of setting type to print on a tabletop Kelsey letterpress. Students will learn how to set type, how to lock type up in the chase, and how to print with these small but mighty letterpress machines. Students will create their own personalized message for their postcards. Each student will go home with a set of 10 postcards.

    16+ (children under 16 must be accompanied by adult)

  • Holiday Paper Crafts

    Join Brenda Gallagher for an afternoon of fun paper projects to liven up your holiday decor. We'll create some colorful bulb ornaments from decorative paper strips, lattice cut holiday trees and a folded star wreath. Come join the fun! All materials provided.

    16+ (children under 16 must be accompanied by adult)

Fiber Arts

  • BEAUTIFUL BATIK

    NEW Class dates: Tuesday November 19 and Thursday 21, 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM

    2 sessions at Full Circle Art Studio, 5707 Gunbarrel Rd, Longmont, CO 80503

    Instructor: Claudia Lewis, M.A.

    $105 plus $25 materials fee.

    Batik is an ancient technique using wax to make resist designs and patterns on fabric, then dyeing the fabric with beautiful procion dyes! The possibilities are endless! In this class, you will learn a variety of ways to apply the wax and dyes, creating pieces that can be worn, used to make functional art, or mounted as wall hangings. We start by experimenting with the techniques and then create a finished product of your choice.
